Abstract: as a main plastic building material, plastic profile is increasingly widely used, especially in the plastic door and window industry. Extrusion die is the key equipment of plastic profile production. Its design technology is a systematic project based on plastic molding process, supported by mechanical design and assisted by related technology. Moreover, it has its particularity in the manufacturing of extrusion die. The manufacturing technology of die is directly related to the forming quality of plastic profile.

It is mainly reflected in the complex cross-section shape of plastic profile. In the design, we must focus on the precision design and structural design of mold cavity, which requires corresponding measures to be taken in the manufacturing process.
Structural characteristics of extrusion die for plastic profile
1. The shape of the die is only geometrically similar to the section of the extruded product. When the material enters the die from the extruder, the geometry is generally circular, and then transition from the circular to a similar geometric section designed to form three functional geometric areas, namely the transition part of the feeding part and the forming part. The material flow from the extruder successively passes through the connecting head perforated plate neck (transition plate), support plate, compression plate and preformed plate mouth template. The structural form of setting die varies with different setting methods, but generally includes three functional elements and parts: forming components, water cooling system and vacuum adsorption system. The structural characteristics of plastic profile extrusion die can be seen from the extrusion die structure that the extrusion die is a pass through die, which is different from other plastic dies.

The extrusion die is designed according to the customer's requirements, and there are few identical cavities, so every part needs programming in production, so programming is a very important link in production. The molten plastic is gradually formed close to the shape of the product through the stages of shunting, compression and setting. Therefore, the change of its cavity is very complex.

(2) Be able to recognize graphics files in various formats, such as. The machining path can be conveniently selected, and the machining path can be selected one by one in complex graphics as required, so that the relationship between the machining path and other parts of the part can be observed.
(3) It has three-dimensional observation function. In the upper and lower special-shaped machining, the program plane and auxiliary plane need reasonable primitive correspondence, otherwise the distorted machining shape will be generated and an incorrect transition will be formed. These unreasonable transitions can be found through the three-dimensional observation of the software.
